Tips for photographing your pet
I paint directly from the photos that you provide me. It is super important to choose images that capture your pet how you see/remember them. The HIGHER QUALITY of the photo, the MORE REALISTIC your painting will turn out.
PLEASE CHOOSE IMAGES THAT ARE:
1.) CLEAR- Great quality is everything! Blurry photos make it very difficult to paint an accurate representation of the subject.
2.) BRIGHT/NATURAL LIGHTING- The best possible lighting is natural outdoor lighting. Early in the morning or just before sunset when the sun is lower in the sky will give you a warmer tone with interesting shadows. Taking a photo in the middle of the day when the sun is directly overhead can often create harsh shadows and unnatural coloring on your pet. An overcast day is perfect for picture taking to avoid harsh lighting.
3.) Please DO NOT use filters or flash as it will take away from the true coloring of your pet’s fur and facial features.
4.) CLOSE UP HEADSHOTS- I love being able to see every little detail in the eyes and nose- these really bring the painting to life. Get down on their level and avoid looking down at your pet.
