Lurking in the Shadows
16 x 20” Acrylic Canvas Original

So this inspiration is a silly story.. I was house sitting for a friend of mine, my dream house really. It sits on 26 acres, a cabin, pond, pasture with two horses, chickens, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I had brought all my painting supplies thinking that I was going to be loaded with inspiration and focus, just me and the animals. Well no.. that didn’t happen. I had a painting that I was almost finished with but I knew that I was not in the right headspace to complete so I started another. I was recently gifted a box of unused paints and they are the most beautiful colors. Naturally, anytime I can't get a flow I let the color speak for itself. A beautiful burnt orange. Well that is all that happened… layering color over color and I gave up for the day.
Next morning, I find Macy - the eldest and I will kindly say the “fluffiest” of the cats laying on it… I thought the canvas was a goner. Thankfully, after swooshing her off, it didn't look too bad. So in honor of a fat cat named Maci, I give you a ferocious kitty that I never want to see this close in person.
